Registered Psychotherapist & Clinical Counsellor,
Founder & Owner

I am the owner and founder of Work in Progress as well as a Registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Counsellor. I primarily work with individuals experiencing feelings of disconnection, anxiety, and self-criticism. I am not currently accepting new clients but you can reach out to be added to my waitlist. I also provide clinical supervision and consultations.

Do you ever feel like you can't live up to your own standards or those of others? As though no matter how hard you try you remain stuck or unfulfilled? In a society that promotes speed, wealth, and unrealistic standards (of beauty, relationships, even self-care!) it can be increasingly difficult to find a space in which we feel heard and validated. When life prevents you from seeing the best version of yourself, I will see it for you, bringing your strengths to the forefront of our work together.

My approach is anti-oppressive, trauma-informed and client-centred. I enjoy using Narrative, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Cognitive and Mindfulness based practices to help you explore and confront difficult emotions. You can expect challenging questions, with the goal of guiding you toward considering new ways of acting and reacting to the chaotic world around you.

My therapeutic skills lie in working with individuals with a variety of presenting difficulties from trauma to life indecision. I draw on the belief that the stories we hear and tell about ourselves can perpetuate harmful narratives that are hard to let go of. I work to dismantle the systems of oppression that marginalize particular bodies and seek regular supervision and consultation on my anti-oppressive practices and diversity/equity and inclusion leadership.

Rebecca holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia, a Post-baccalaureate Diploma in Counselling and Human Development from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Gender Studies from the University of Toronto. She is a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario and a member in good standing of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as a Certified Canadian Counsellor.

Rebecca works with clients from varying populations and backgrounds including members of the LGBTQ2A+community, racialized and neuro-diverse individuals. She is also qualified to supervise practitioners in the field and is available for consultations.
